The evenings song was Jonathan Edwards "Sunshine." I have my own person feelings as to the meanings of the words but I thought a quick search might offer a little more light on the subject. I have not scoped out the validity of songfacts.com but honestly, I love this quote so much I do not want to chance the idea it does not belong to Edwards in reference to one of my favorite songs.
"I used to get letters back in the day, letters from English classes and different science classes telling me about the deeper interpretations that they had come up with - the meaning of life, you name it. That was always entertaining. But what it has left me with is the wisdom to not answer the question, because everyone's interpretation is way more creative and interesting than my original impetus for the song. So you go with it."
Friends, I offer this late night quip because we can peal back the layers of every word but if we did not write it then we have no more inkling of purpose to a piece than the purpose of fleas in the world.
